Waldrand
Nestled right at the edge of a sprawling forest, beams of sunlight fall through the high treetops directly into the cabin. The view stretches over pastures and fields and at the same time leads into the thicket of the forest. Watch the rabbits in the meadows at dawn, take a walk along the cattle pastures or jump into one of the area’s crystal clear lakes.

The Surroundings
This stay between two nature reserves is full of tranquility and opportunities for spontaneous trips to explore the surroundings. The area offers dreamy bathing lakes, unspoiled nature and a small, historic town with a museum and cultural offerings. Enjoy the woods and waters for long hikes or sailing trips. Visit the spa or the swimming bath of the nearest town or just wander through the surrounding fields in search of hidden spots to picnic and read.
Nearby you'll also find our location Waldlichtung. In case you're planning a getaway with your family or friends, you can spend your stay here together as both cabins aren’t too far from each other.
The Facilities
Electricity
Waldrand is powered by the solar panels on the roof. As ever, we encourage our guests to be mindful of their power consumption.
Heating
The cabin is insulated and equipped with a wood stove to make your stay extra warm and cozy. We provide you with wood, kindling, lighter and a little guide so you can spark a crackling fire. There is no additional heating. If you are planning to stay here during the colder months, enjoying some foggy mornings or the snowy landscape, please also make sure to pack enough warm clothing as it can get a little colder out there.
Water
This location is connected to the local water supply, which means the water comes directly from the tap, not from a fresh water tank as at our off-grid sites. To conserve this precious resource, we have installed environmentally friendly dry toilets in all of our cabins. Please always try to save water as best as you can.
Getting There
This location can be reached by car within 1:15 h from central Berlin. The last kilometer passes a rather bumpy field path, so make sure you are comfortable driving on unpaved roads and to choose a suitable car. A quick 45-minute train ride from Berlin central station takes you to the closest train station. From here, you can either (during the week) take a bus and hike the last stretch or go by taxi in a few minutes.
