Situated on the edge of a large pasture area, from the cabin your view sweeps across the small river all the way to the forest on the other side. You will spend your stay here together with a herd of cattle, which leisurely moves through the meadow landscape in search of fresh herbs. Watch the animals as they graze, explore one of the mystical bogs in the area, or listen to the rippling of the stream, which you can only hear if you focus on all your senses for a moment.

The Surroundings
The landscape surrounding your cabin is crisscrossed by moors and heaths, where numerous rare plant species find their habitat. You can explore the unspoiled nature by bike or on foot and stop at one of the many cafés and organic farm stores for a culinary treat: try home-brewed beer and freshly baked bread there, or visit the milk station nearby to stock up for your breakfast in bed.

Electricity
Your cabin is powered by the solar panels on the roof only. Please be extra attentive in terms of energy consumption.
HEATING
The cabin is insulated and equipped with a wood stove to make your stay extra warm and cozy. We provide you with wood, kindling, lighter and a little guide so you can spark a crackling fire. As Rinderweide is an off-grid location, there is no additional heating. If you are planning to stay here during the colder months, enjoying some foggy mornings or the snowy landscape, please also make sure to pack enough warm clothing as it can get a little colder out there.
Water
This location has fresh water provided, coming from a tank equipped with a water filter system so that you can drink it. Depending on the length of your stay the tank will be refilled halfway through. Nevertheless, we want to encourage you to be extra mindful in terms of water usage. The water level will be displayed in your cabin.
Getting There
From Hamburg Central Station, the fastest connection will take you to the station in 1:15 hours (including one change). From the train station you can reach the cabin by cab in a few minutes. If you bring your bike along, you also can cycle from the train station within a short bike ride and already take in some of the scenery. By car you will reach your cabin in about 0:45 h from Hamburg.

So you don’t have to think about anything else and just easily whip up a delicious meal.
