Impressions from our locations in Austria

Anyone planning a holiday in Austria usually wants to know what others have experienced there first. Here, you’ll find all of our cabins located directly in Austria, as well as our various locations in Bavaria. These are also easy to reach from Austria and each has its own unique setting and atmosphere. Across almost every review, the same themes appear: a sense of calm that sets in immediately, carefully curated amenities, and hosts whose warmth can truly be felt. Many guests say they are already planning their next stay before they have even arrived back home. The impressions are deeply personal and vary depending on the location and surroundings. What they all share is the feeling of escaping everyday life in a very short time.

What makes a Raus cabin special

One thing quickly becomes clear in the reviews: our guests truly love the cabin interiors. From the small wood-burning stove that keeps the cabin warm to the fully equipped kitchen with stove and refrigerator, everything has been thoughtfully selected. One guest from Almwiese writes: “With the modern interior of the cabin and the view of nature, I couldn’t get enough of the visual impressions and the feeling they created.” Added to this are carefully chosen details such as yoga mats, books, a Bluetooth speaker, and a hot water bottle for crisp cold or mild evenings. Guests also frequently praise the uncomplicated booking process via our website and the code-based self check-in. There are only a few steps between arriving and settling in, allowing the getaway to begin right away.

The idea behind it: living close to nature without giving up comfort

Raus was founded in the early 2020s with a simple idea. Julian, Johann, and Christopher wanted to create an easy way to reconnect with nature without sacrificing the things that make a stay enjoyable. That’s why comfort and design are just as important as the location itself — surrounded by nature, yet only a short distance from the city. One review of Wildblumenwiese says: “A lovingly designed tiny house where you’ll find everything you could wish for in a romantic weekend getaway. A lovely area with friendly alpacas and sheep on the property.” This combination of closeness to nature and cozy interiors can be found across all locations. Because most people who book a cabin are looking for a slower pace and more time for the things that truly matter.

How our cabins are equipped: cozy and thoughtfully designed

Every cabin includes everything you need for a relaxing escape — and sometimes even things you wouldn’t expect to find there. As dusk settles in, the wood stove crackles, the outside world becomes quiet, and you curl up under cozy blankets with tea and a hot water bottle. The kitchenette, complete with stove, refrigerator, and cooking utensils, is perfectly suited for self-catering, while the private bathroom includes a shower and either a flushing or dry toilet. One guest from Mandelhöhe notes: “The shower especially surprised me in a positive way — great water pressure and even very hot water. The stove and Swedish wood burner were excellent as well, just like the bed.” All of this invites you to linger, relax, and daydream, making the cabin quickly feel like a familiar place.

Our cabins for your well-deserved getaway

Four of our cabins are located in Austria, while two more are so close to the border that they can easily be reached from there. Mandelhöhe awaits about an hour south of Vienna in Lower Austria. One guest writes: “The experience was truly unique. We completely relaxed and are already looking forward to our next stay.” Alpakahof in Styria is located just 45 minutes from Graz, where alpacas graze right outside the cabin. One guest describes the animals as “cute and curious.” Almwiese, also in Styria, is beautifully tucked away from the crowds, and its peaceful setting is mentioned in many reviews. Wildblumenwiese can be found 40 minutes south of Linz on a farm with alpacas. One guest calls it a “unique experience” with “perfect hosts,” while others mention breakfast eggs fresh from the chicken coop. Close to the border in Bavaria, you’ll find Wiesenquelle, surrounded by meadows and forest. Near Munich lies Waldteich, just over an hour north of Linz.

Your relaxing escape is already waiting for you

Which location suits your getaway best depends on what matters most to you — whether it’s animals on the farm, a quiet alpine meadow, or a secluded retreat far from everyday life. You can find an overview of all cabins in Austria, including current availability, on this overview page.
