The Surroundings

Just a stone's throw away from Hamburg, this site is located east of a gorgeous Heath and surrounded by generous forest areas. Those seeking tranquility can take long walks through one of the many forests, but the heathland, which turns a luscious purple in autumn, can be equally well explored by bike. This stay also promises to be a special culinary experience. On the one hand, there is a farmstead with its own manufactory nearby. On the other hand, you can visit an organic trout farm a short drive away.

The Facilities

Electricity

Bucheneck is solar powered but also connected to a backup main power supply. As ever, we encourage our guests to be mindful of their power consumption.

HEATING

The cabin is insulated and equipped with a wood stove to make your stay extra warm and cozy. We provide you with wood, kindling, a lighter, and a little guide so you can spark a crackling fire.

Water

This location is connected to the local water supply, which means the water comes directly from the tap. To conserve this precious resource, we have installed environmentally friendly dry toilets in all of our cabins. Please always try to save water as best as you can.

Getting There

The fastest connection by train takes you from Hamburg Central Station in 0:45 h to the nearest station. If you bring your bike along, you can cycle from the train station and already take in some of the scenery during the approximately one-hour ride. Alternatively, you can take a bus from the train station to the nearest stop in half an hour and either change buses there and walk the last kilometer or call a cab to reach the cabin in a few minutes. By car, you will reach your cabin in about 1:00 h from Hamburg.

Food & drinks on your request

During your stay, you can easily – and above all quickly – cook yourself a delicious dinner with our sous-vide dishes from Joice x Raus. The healthy food package can be added to your booking and will be delivered to your home address the evening before you're setting off into nature. It includes two vegetarian dishes for two, made from local ingredients, and a bottle of natural wine. The dishes developed by star chefs are ready in just eight minutes – for a spontaneous dinner on the terrace or in your cabin. Delivery is currently available for guests residing in Hamburg and Berlin.

Cabins with all the essentials you need to live comfortably in nature.

At each location we place smart, sustainable cabins that have a bed, a shower, toilet, electricity, running water and a kitchen with all the appliances – just bring the ingredients.
