In this unspoiled spot on the edge of a vast field, your gaze wanders from the large birch trees that surround your cabin, in all directions over countless fruit trees to the church spire of the neighboring village in the distance. Stroll along the cherry trees, which turn the tree lines into a white sea of blossoms in spring, or go on an exploratory tour to collect the many edible mushrooms that can be discovered in almost every corner of the meadow in autumn.

The Surroundings
Situated on the edge of a scenic nature park, you'll find yourself in the midst of a diverse landscape: ride along miles of bike paths through unspoiled nature or get lost on the hidden trails that wind through an enchanting bog nearby and lead to a viewing point with impressive panoramic sights of the surrounding area. Take a walk to the idyllic pond just a stone's throw from your cabin, roam the vast oak woods nearby, or pick fresh apples and cherries from the region's many fruit trees in late summer.

Electricity
Birkenwiese is powered by the solar panels on the roof only. Please be extra attentive in terms of energy consumption.
HEATING
The cabin is insulated and equipped with a wood stove to make your stay extra warm and cozy. We provide you with wood, kindling, lighter and a little guide so you can spark a crackling fire. As Birkenwiese is an off-grid location, there is no additional heating. If you are planning to stay here during the colder months, enjoying some foggy mornings or the snowy landscape, please also make sure to pack enough warm clothing as it can get a little colder out there.
Water
This location has fresh water provided, coming from a tank equipped with a water filter system so that you can drink it. Depending on the length of your stay the tank will be refilled halfway through. Nevertheless, we want to encourage you to be extra mindful in terms of water usage. The water level will be displayed in your cabin.
Getting There
The nearest station can be reached by train from all major German cities. From Berlin Central Station, the fastest connection will take you to the station in 2:00 hours. From the train station you can reach the cabin by cab in about a few minutes. If you bring your bike along, you also can cycle from the train station within a short bike ride and already take in some of the scenery. By car you will reach your cabin in about 2:00 h from Berlin-Mitte.
